Fundraising

We depend greatly on the support and generosity of many individuals and organisations that enable us to continue our excellent work addressing addiction.

Group of fundraisers for the Kenward Trust.

There are a number of ways that you can help us to raise additional income. If you have other suggestions please get in touch, we would love to hear from you.

Whilst we receive some statutory funding for our residential recovery projects this only covers a proportion of the full cost of maintaining the services we provide. We therefore need to supplement our income by a range of fundraising initiatives and campaigns. We organise events, apply to Trusts and Grant Making Bodies and engage with a broad mix of individuals and organisations that have expressed an interest in our work in an attempt to attract wider support and financial contributions.

Please help us to continue to provide care, support and treatment for those that so desperately need our help.

These are some of the ways you can help us continue to save lives:

  • If your employer operates a 'Charity of the Year' scheme, please nominate Kenward Trust
  • If your child’s school holds 'Non-Uniform days' for charity, please nominate Kenward Trust
  • If your church uses its 'Mission Giving' to benefit a charity, please nominate Kenward Trust

And if you do nominate Kenward Trust for any of the above, please email us at fundraising@kenwardtrust.org.uk

You can also raise funds through:

  • Justgiving/sponsorship (online/offline)
  • Coffee mornings
  • Giving up something for a period of time
  • Quiz nights
  • Give as you Live! - When you shop at over 4,000 top stores including Amazon, Expedia and John Lewis via Give as you Live, they'll turn a percentage of your spend into free funds for our charity! Click here to get started today!

All funds raised, no matter what size, go towards providing beds, food, therapy, skills development and one-to-one support to the people who need us.

If you would like to support in other ways or have any questions, please contact us at karen.gambrell@kenwardtrust.org.uk.

Thank you very much for all your support.

By remembering us in your Will, you will enable us to continue to support those that most need our care and support in the future.

This may be a specified sum, a proportion of your estate, or a specific item such as a vehicle or other useful item.

Please contact us for a discussion or practical advice and support for leaving a legacy to Kenward Trust.

Suggested wording for wills

The following sample wording can be used if you would like to leave a legacy to Kenward Trust.

To leave a share of your estate (residuary legacy):

'Subject to the payment of my debts, funeral and testamentary expenses, I give (the whole/insert percentage value) of my estate not otherwise disposed of by this my Will to Kenward Trust, Kenward Road, Yalding. ME18 6AH, Registered Charity number 1146481, for the general purposes of Kenward Trust, and I declare that the receipt of their Treasurer or other proper officer shall be a full and sufficient discharge.'

To leave a specific sum (pecuniary legacy):

'I give free of tax to Kenward Trust of Kenward Road, Yalding, Kent ME18 6AH registered charity number 1146481, the sum of £________ for the purposes of Kenward Trust, and I declare that the receipt of their Treasurer or other proper officer shall be a full and sufficient discharge.'

To leave a specific item:

'I give to Kenward Trust of Kenward Road, Yalding, Kent, ME18 6AH registered charity number 1146481, absolutely (write in here whatever you wish to give) for the purpose of Kenward Trust and I declare that the receipt of their Treasurer or other proper officer shall be a full and sufficient discharge.'

We constantly require donations of clothing and quality household bric-a-brac and furniture for our charity shop

You can now shop all week at Kenward Trust's charity shop at Kenward Road, Yalding, which offers not only good quality second hand clothing and household items but also a selection of recycled items made by residents on site. The residents currently make a range of refurbished furniture, wooden craft items, ranging from wildlife boxes through to trendy signs, and these are on sale in the shop.

One of the strategic aims for the Trust is the development of social enterprise as part of the vision of holistic integrated recovery journey from detox to gainful employment. Additionally it will help to raise valuable income for the charity so we can continue our life saving work.

So if you have any unwanted items please phone 01622 814187 or email reception@kenwardtrust.org.uk

We are very keen to develop exciting new partnerships with private / corporate bodies, where the opportunity for mutual benefit exists.

For example, we would be delighted to be a company’s sponsored Charity of The Year, or establish a trading arrangement, where products from our social enterprises are purchased regularly.

Kenward Trust is nationally recognised as a centre of excellence, knowledge and expertise in dealing with Drug and Alcohol issues. We are extremely keen to work with business owners, managers and employees to increase awareness and to offer interventions and support services for those directly affected by issues of substance misuse.
