Kenward Trust Chief Executive conquers Snowdonia
21st July 2017 /
On Saturday 8th October, David Philpott, Kenward Trust's Chief Executive supported the charity by raising funds when he took on a Challenge event in Snowdonia's National Park.
Taking part in one of the Kenward Trust's Challenge Events is a great way to raise money whilst enjoying a once in a lifetime experience. David took part in the "Snowdon Adventure Challenge". This exciting challenge involved him cycling 17km, trekking 15km and kayaking 4km in a mere 12-hour day. Snowdonia National Park is home to some of the most rugged and challenging peaks in Britain giving it its reputation as one of the best natural adventure play grounds in the U.K. This trek is notoriously challenging both mentally and physically and the long gruelling day, tests your entire muscle range. David enjoyed stunning views of the National Park and had a fantastic sense of achievement once he'd completed the trek.
David said, “Many thanks to everyone who wished me well for my Snowdonia Challenge. Saturday was indeed a gruelling 11 hour ‘adventure’ cycling, ascending and coming down Mount Snowdon and then kayaking on Llyn Padarn. I ended up cramped, wet and very tired indeed! The good news is that I raised enough money in sponsorship to cover the costs of a bursary bed for a 1 week stay at any of our First Stage Projects. My next planned event is the Ascent of Mount Toubkal in Morocco next year.”
