Kenward Trust Chief Executive to take on Snowdonia
21st November 2017 /
David Philpott, Kenward Trust's Chief Executive will be supporting the charity and raising funds when he takes on a Challenge event in Snowdonia's National Park this October.
For the last 49 years Kenward Trust's alcohol and drug treatment and rehabilitation programmes have helped people transform their lives away from the misery of addiction, homelessness and crime. The Trust offers people the support and opportunities necessary to change their lives and reach their full potential. We help address substance misuse and homelessness issues, bringing hope, help and support.
Taking part in one of the Kenward Trust's Challenge Events is a great way to raise money whilst enjoying a once in a lifetime experience. David will be taking part in the "Snowdon Adventure Challenge". This exciting challenge will have him cycling 17km, trekking 15km and kayaking 4km in a mere 12-hour day. Snowdonia National Park is home to some of the most rugged and challenging peaks in Britain giving it its reputation as one of the best natural adventure play grounds in the U.K. This is a challenging trek both mentally and physically with a long and gruelling day, testing your entire muscle range. David will enjoy stunning views of the National Park, and of course have a fantastic sense of achievement once he's completed the trek.
"'I have climbed Mount Elgon in Uganda and ascended to the highest point in The Atlas Mountains in Morocco but the prospect of having to cycle 17kms, climb Mt Snowdon and then kayak for 7kms - all on the same day - does worry me a little.
However, I see it as a great opportunity to kick start Kenward's challenge event fundraising programme for 2016/17'
