Kenward Trust Opens Shop in Tunbridge Wells
23rd October 2017 /
Kenward Trust was pleased to welcome shoppers in Tunbridge Wells as it opened its first charity shop in Camden Road. The shop offers good quality second hand and vintage clothing, household items plus a selection of woodcrafts made by residents on site at Yalding; ranging from wildlife boxes through to trendy signs.
Charitique Manager Jae Hodgkin says:
“We are excited to have opened our first shop in Tunbridge Wells as we believe this is a fantastic way of raising funds and awareness for Kenward Trust. There is a lot of competition from other charities on the high street, with various causes all competing for the disposable income of the general public. We knew there is a real need to stand out. Charitique is unique. As well as the standard charity store fare of kindly donated high street clothes and bric-a-brac, Charitique has a fantastic range of fine vintage clothing from decades’ past.
Additionally, there is a section dedicated to a beautiful range of woodwork and crafts that are made on The Kenward Trusts Yalding site.
I am confident that these great elements combine to give us a great position to compete in a crowded market in Tunbridge Wells, with the aim of Charitique to become a charity shop brand across the high streets of South East England.
The Kenward Trust does such fantastic work in the treatment and rehabilitation of people with alcohol and drug problems, and the money we raise will help these people change their lives.”
One of the strategic aims for the Yalding-based Kenward Trust is the development of social enterprise. The opening of this first retail shop is an exciting development as part of the vision of holistic integrated recovery journey from detox to gainful employment. Additionally, it will help to raise valuable income for the charity so we can continue our life saving work
The shop is appealing for donations of good quality clothing, books, household bric-a-brac and toys and games. We ask anyone with unwanted items to please phone 01622 814187 to find out their closest drop off point or email Peter.firstname.lastname@example.org
