Our volunteers work within our projects across Kent and East Sussex providing invaluable help and support in a variety of different ways, but we always need more!

Our commitment to you:

How can you help?

  • Provide help in our garden enterprise, growing produce, planting and maintaining the grounds
  • Enjoy creating exciting new products within in our woodcrafts workshop
  • Help us look after our small herd of goats – do we still have these???
  • Support our catering service or conference centre
  • Sell produce at our on-site shop, or at the many farmers markets we attend
  • Become a Charity Shop Assistant in our brand new Charitique shop (due to open Summer 2016)
  • Provide advice and support to those affected by drugs and alcohol in the community
  • Provide mentoring support within our Reset service
  • Help our residents to build their social and practical skills through art, alternative therapies, IT and other creative work
  • Provide practical assistance to our residents, for example accompanying them when they have hospital or other appointments.
  • Help the Events and Fundraising Team with planning and administration tasks

Some frequently asked questions:

Who can volunteer?
Anyone over the age of 18 years is welcome to make contact with us, regardless of their experience or the amount of time they can share. All Volunteers are subject to an enhanced DBS check.

How much time would I need to offer?
Volunteer opportunities can be flexible and in most cases, tailored to suit the time you can give.

Will volunteering affect my benefits?
There are no limits on the amount of time you can volunteer for, but you must continue to meet the conditions of the benefit or tax credit you are receiving. It is always advisable to discuss your choices with your benefits advisor before you start.

Community Service Education, Intervention & Outreach Volunteer

To help run workshops and delivery presentations as part of the Kenward Trust Community Service, to share information and experiences about substance misuse with vulnerable people. Engage young people in communities where issues have arisen due to substance misuse and ASB.

Volunteer Gardener

Lead and support role in all aspects of horticulture in the nursery and grounds of Kenward House, Kenward Road, Yalding, Kent

The primary purpose of all the work is to engage residents and other volunteers in horticultural work as occupational therapy for the residents.

Second is the production of high quality plants, cut flowers and fruit and vegetables for sale in Kenward House Reception shop and Kenward’s Charitique shop in Tunbridge Wells.
