Walk the Jurassic Coast, Dorset
19th October 2018 / Events
Walk in the footsteps of dinosaurs for the Kenward Trust on 19th to 21st October!
Support the Kenward Trust by walking the Jurassic Caost. We begin out walk in the Worth Matravers which takes us along some of the finest sections of the Jurassic coast. The trek will be fully supported and guided giving you an educational and enjoyable experience.
Lasting for three days, taking us along some of the most beautiful and remote sections of the Jurasic Coast, parts may be challenging with lots of climbing and descent. The walk offers striking views and colourful landscape with many interesting points to see along the way.
Highlights of the trip include:
- Flower's Barrow: the visible remains of an Iron Age fort, which interestingly has never been excavated. The combination of the dramatic effects of coastal erosion, the geological folding and the remains of the Fort make this an extraordinarily breathtaking sight.
- The Fossil Forest: designated a Site of Special Scientific Interest, the beach at the foot of Bindon Hill has the most complete fossil record of a Jurassic Forest in the world.
- Durdle Door: this perfect limestone archway is undoubtably one of the most well known and well photographed points of the entire South West Coast Path.
- Ringstead Bay: this peaceful pebbly beach is a great spot for rock pooling and is also popular with fossil hunters
The cost of the trip is just £325 per person and includes: 2 nights hostel accommodation, all meals, water stops and refreshments, a fully guided route and support vehicles available at certain points.
We have two payment options available:
