Are you taking part in Sober October?

Every year, Macmillan runs a Sober October campaign to encourage people to go alcohol-free in October to raise money for Macmillan Cancer Support. You might have personal reasons for wanting to take part, or you might just decide you fancy a challenge; whatever your reason, just taking one month off of drinking alcohol can be incredibly beneficial for you, in several ways.

The biggest difference you will notice fairly quickly is that you will save money, as you will not be spending it on alcohol. You will also begin to sleep better, which will leave you feeling more rested and revitalised, and this will, in turn, mean that you have more energy and a clearer head, so you may become more productive with your time. In addition to this, you may find that you begin to lose weight. Finally, if you complete Sober October, you are likely to have a (well-deserved!) sense of achievement and success.

If you plan on taking part in Sober October, please tag @kenwardtrust in your social media posts so that we can keep up-to-date with and celebrate your progress.

Good luck, and you never know, it might change your attitude towards drinking, so keep up the positive changes once Sober October is over.
