Join us for Dry January 2022

Dry January has been running officially with Alcohol Change UK since 2013, increasing in both reputation and number of participants every year. Alcohol Change UK reported that 70% of people who took part in last year's Dry January claimed to have slept better, with 65% of participants reporting 'generally improved health' and 86% saving money.

Long-term, Dry January encourages people to drink more healthily throughout the year and raises awareness of the negative impacts of drinking, but there are also the immediate short-term health benefits of not drinking alcohol, such as:

  • Lowered blood pressure

  • Reduced diabetes risk

  • Lowered cholesterol

  • Reduced levels of cancer-related proteins in the blood.

There may be various reasons for you wanting to participate, but the benefits are certain and you can help more than just yourself by taking part.

We will be supporting everyone participating in Dry January with weekly tips and encouragement via our social media platforms, so don't forget to follow us on FacebookInstagramTwitter and LinkedIn!

We will also be offering our professional services throughout January, as always; please contact us directly for more information.

You can also...

Donate

If you decide to take part in this year's Dry January, why not consider donating the money that you save to Kenward Trust? Or you could share your journey with your friends and family and ask them to sponsor you for taking part, with the proceeds going towards helping us change lives and empower those who have been affected by alcohol addiction.

Self-refer

If you are concerned by how much you are drinking, and think you may need some professional help within a residential rehabilitation environment, please get in touch with our specialist team, as we do accept self-referrals and have privately-funded spaces available.

If you would like to find out more information or book yourself in for a free assessment, please call 01622 812603 or email alice.yates@kenwardtrust.org.uk.

Day Treatment

If you feel like you need support, but cannot commit to a residential stay, then our Day Treatment Programmes are ideal for you. There are a variety of options available, but one of our most popular treatments is the Weekday Sessions, which offers a 3 hour session once a week, over a six week period. These sessions are run in a small group, and covers a variety of topics, such as exploring triggers, urges to drink, coping strategies and the feelings associated with substances.

The next Weekday Sessions are beginning on Tuesday 11 January 2022 and would be ideal for those who think they might struggle with Dry January, those who want assistance whilst they stop drinking or those who have recently stopped drinking and feel that they need further support.

The price for the full six weeks is £530.

Please call Tracie on 01622 812603 or email tracie.woodman@kenwardtrust.org.uk to find out more.
