Nationwide Building Society supports Kenward Trust's Resettlement Project
We are proud to announce that we are being supported by Nationwide Building Society for our Resettlement Project, providing a safe place to call home to those in recovery from their addictions in locations across Kent and East Sussex.
We find that many of their residents benefit from continuing to live amongst a group of peers following moving on from their addiction rehabilitation centre as they draw strength and support from each other whilst reducing the dangers of isolation.
Through Nationwide’s generous support, we will be able to encourage a follow up for the residents who have taken part in their Therapeutic Gardens and Workshops during their stay with us in our rehabilitation programme, within their resettlement houses. This will be through new gardening equipment alongside working on the upkeep of the properties to ensure they are indeed a safe place to call home for those trying to build on their recovery in the community.
Martin Gregory, Resettlement Manager of Kenward Trust:
“We are so delighted to have the support of Nationwide for our Resettlement Project. The pandemic has amplified the need we have been facing as a charity for many years, so being able to offer more to our residents re-integrating back into the community, whilst ensuring their properties are places our residents are proud to call home will be hugely beneficial in helping us maintain our resident’s recovery journey.”
As a Trust, we are looking to expand this service going forward to accommodate the increase in demand they have felt from those affected by addiction, as well as increasing the opportunities they can offer to their residents to aid them with future employment.
