Help us create a workshop for our Homeless Project at Kenward Trust
Help us create a workshop for our homeless project, Kenward Lodge by nominating us for Ecclesiastical's Movement for Good Awards.
Kenward Lodge is a project we provide for homeless individuals with addiction issues that are struggling to access community drug and alcohol services due to not having a stable place of accommodation. This project features key-working, life skills-based work such as budgeting and problem solving and we enable all residents to access drug and alcohol support services within the community.
We are currently developing a woodworking workshop for the residents of Kenward Lodge to give them a place to learn new skills and boost their self-esteem and confidence to help them in their recovery. Additionally, we find from our Gardens & Workshops in our residential rehabilitation centre that our residents find woodworking and upcycling furniture incredibly therapeutic and beneficial, giving them a sense of purpose, empowers them and lets them feel in control where they haven't been throughout their time in active addiction.
To create the workshop we have re-purposed an old storage unit, and have managed to link electricity to the unit and set up some workbenches. All that we are missing are the actual tools that our residents can use. This is where your nomination to Ecclesiastical's Movement for Good will be so beneficial.
Ecclesiastical's Movement for Good allows you to nominate your favourite charity to hopefully receive £1000 which would make such a big difference to us with this project, so if you would take a few minutes to nominate us it would be hugely appreciated by our entire team and residents.
