Over a 7 day week
Back up support to the general staff team in a variety of ways, not to include therapeutic intervention. To offer support to the residents in terms of company and engaging in activities such as playing a game of chess or scrabble.
Driving residents to a variety of appointments, predominantly locally in Kent and occasionally in London.
Back up support to admin for general duties, including photocopying, answering the phone, the door bell, compiling resource and information packs
Tasks may range from client spare clothing cupboard organisation or maintaining art resources cupboard to working with the therapy team to organise group resources.
This role will not include any therapeutic intervention with the client group, i.e. no key working, no group work, no counselling, - however, after a period of time may offer the potential to work with the residents and staff within the Therapeutic Gardens & Workshops. The project volunteer would be able to offer time with the resident to engage with activities such as puzzles, certain games, seeing the animals, and helping in the Therapeutic Gardens & Workshop sessions engaging with the residents in the gardens.
This role will include lone-working with clients when driving residents to appointments.
Staff working within Kenward House need to have and adhere to excellent professional personal boundaries, good timekeeping, and good a standard of literacy and numeracy. Kenward House is a fast-paced and reactive environment and so the ability to be flexible and willing to adapt is essential. Excellent communication and relationship-building skills are also necessary, as is the ability to share with colleagues observations that suggest a change in behaviour from the clients and any personal upsets and concerns that you feel might affect your work.
Must have a clean and valid driver's license.
